We are FOOTBALL PEOPLE - FARE action weeks 2011 (Oct12-25)

FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) had an annual call to support grass-root initiatives with micro-funding (up to 400eur) activities in their FARE Action Weeks.

"The 2011 FARE Action Weeks are themed 'Football People'. Our aim is to challenge discrimination and celebrate the contribution we all make to football, wherever we live, whatever our connection to the game, or our background. The weeks aim to encourage initiatives and activities to address problems, or celebrate success, within your club or community. They allow us to join together across Europe to present a unified stand. Alongside activities by professional clubs and leagues, such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, the weeks give fans, minority groups and grassroots clubs the opportunity to celebrate the inclusive power of the game."

QueerSportWeekend (Zagreb 21-23.10.2011)

qSPORT and partners organized another QueerSportWeekend (Zagreb 21-23.10.2011), welcoming past/present/future members, guests from Croatia and South East-Europe who wanted to experience queer sport.

Legacy of EuroGames 2011 in Rotterdam

After the closing of EuroGames 2011 it feels important to look back and see what were the new developments in world of LGBTQ sport in past and prospects in upcoming year. There is not so much at what Rotterdam organizers excelled over successes of past EuroGames organizers. Amazingly ambitious yet successful Munich in 2004 (included sport and conference for disabled; generated surplus), social and political Utrecht in 2005 (featured many Eastern Europeans), remarkably organized Antwerp in 2007 (year after GayGames and Outgames split) ...or colorful and passionate Barcelona EuroGames in 2008 (left all inspired by first major games in south)... but Rotterdamers (with Budapest) made a few innovations worth looking into and learning from.
